WATTS-TO-MILL is a rural-based, portable sawmilling business. We supply macrocarpa timber throughout New Zealand to builders, joiners and architects.

The KIWI BACKYARD business was created to further process the macrocarpa. Andrew, having been coerced into building a treehouse for his youngest two children, realised the potential market for children's' play equipment ... So now we have a factory in Waipukurau (Central Hawke's Bay) and a very enthusiastic, supportive staff of twelve whose varied talents and strengths combine to create the products that have evolved and grown in popularity enormously.

The WATTS FAMILY is a hands-on one with Andrew involved in the daily management and marketing side and Janet doing the ever increasing office work. Amy and Samuel are continuously supportive although now following their own pursuits having left school. Fergus and Lydia have the pleasure of testing new products and love building creations from the timber offcuts. Fergus manufactures the nail boxes for pocket money.

In our spare time we run beef cattle on our property in Ashley Clinton, and enjoy following and supporting our childrens' many and varied activities.
